This may seem like an obvious one, but if your surfing the internet, make sure you have antivirus on your laptop or desktop, or make sure the one you have is current in updates and that the subscription has not expired.  Once it's expired it is no longer protecting your computer.  If you can't swing that $40-$80 fee (depending on the Antivirus provider you are using) here are a few free options:

With the upcoming release of Windows 8 on October 26th, Microsoft has finally set a release date for the highly anticipated Surface tablet.  The tablet will be released on October 26th as well.  The Surface will be Microsoft's first stab at the tablet market.  But in my opinion it makes quite an impression.  It boasts a built in kickstand to support hands free functionality, the Touch Cover also serves as a spill resistant keyboard,  and it has full-size USB port, microSD card slot, and HD video out port.  And did we mention that it comes with Office 2013 built in? I can't wait to get my hands on experience.
